Patt Ochoa truly is a person of many talents, with one mission – saving lives of those suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. He is currently the Program Director at Liberty House, a drug treatment facility in Redlands, CA. and is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor III (CADC III) passionate about helping people recover from addiction.
Patt also is invested in the community working with teens who are also addicted or prone to addiction, and is one of eight founding members of a non-profit providing sober environments at 22 of the largest musical festivals across the US. However, life for Patt wasn’t always like this.
In October 2002, Patt had been living on Skid Row in Los Angeles for a year and half. He believes that on the 23rd of that month when he reached out to his mom to ask for help, he walked into God’s Grace. His mom said, “I can’t help you anymore. Stay where you are and I will send someone to help you.” He believes his life changed, when his mom didn’t come with a plan of how he was going to get help.
In 2003, he was approached by a man asking him to hang out with his kids at his Outpatient center. In that experience he decided to go to school to get certified to help people with addiction. Saddleback College gave him the educational foundation to help others.
In 2004 Patt created a Recovery Component for a sober High School, educating students and families. Through his Recovery Component his focus was on treating the family in order for the person suffering from addiction to recovery. He believes that education, family process, boundaries/structure changes and 12 step support for each family member is vital for change to occur.
Patt has also Created 11:11 Intervention Inc. and 11:11 Coaching, offering sober coaching and life coaching helping today’s adolescents deal with bullying, self-esteem, drug, and alcohol use, slipping grades, and more. With Patt's guidance, his clients go on to lead lives full of self-love and confidence.
In another venture, Patt is one of eight Founding Directors of the non-profit Harmonium. Harmonium’s simple purpose is providing sober environments at 22 of the largest major music festivals across the U.S. to support and inform those who seek the comfort and camaraderie of other clean and sober people. Though these environments consist mostly of people in recovery from alcoholism and addiction, Harmonium exists for anyone wishing to stay clean and sober as well as for those seeking serenity, and fellowship at festivals.
