Richard Capriola has had two main careers.  One in education, and the second in mental health and substance use counseling. Richard was a mental health and substance use counselor for over two decades, then an addiction counselor for over a decade at the Menninger Clinic in Houston, Texas; which is ranked as US News & World Report’s #8th Best Hospital in psychiatry in the country in 2021-2022. Richard is also an author:  The Addicted Child: A Parent's Guide to Adolescent Substance Abuse. He has a wealth of experience and wisdom, offering practical ways for parents to communicate with and support their child experiencing both a substance use disorder and a mental health issue.
